How do I set up my NETGEAR WiFi Range Extender?

A Netgear wireless repeater (Also called a range Extender) is a device that is used to create the Second network by taking the existing signal from the wireless router or wireless access point. Netgear Extenders work with any standard WI-FI router that helps you to get rid of WI-FI Dead Zones in your home (that annoying Spot in your Home or workplace where you access No WI-FI). Wireless repeaters are the Easiest and fastest way to extend the Existing range of your WI-FI and strength in small offices and homes.

Netgear Extender Installation using WPS Method:

  • Unboxed the Extender; plug it indirectly in the Electrical outlet. For Easy Installation, you should complete the setup in the same room where is your current router.
  • Look for the WPS button on the front of the Back of the router. First Press the WPS Button on the Extender and within a 1-minute press WPS button on your WI-FI Router.
  • WPS led turns up solid green on the extender when you establish a good connection between the range extender and WI-FI Router.

  • Once you found a good location connect any wireless device to the extender. It will use the existing WI-FI name and adds _2gext or _5gExt In the end. You can choose any of them.
  • When connecting to extender use the same WI-FI password as of your router and use the client led light on the extender to make sure the extender setup is successfully completed or not.
